  • Legal Hotline: Do you need to talk to a C.A.R. Hotline Attorney? The C.A.R. Member Legal Hotline is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and *Saturday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. by calling (213) 739-8282. Answers to many of your legal questions can be found in the "Legal Q&As" page under the Transaction Center/Risk Management Section of the website. You may also email your inquiries to the Hotline; include your full name, C.A.R. member number, and phone number. (You must be a C.A.R. member to use this service.)
  • Ombudsman Assistance: Occasionally, members of the public find themselves embroiled in a dispute with their REALTOR®. Sometimes the dispute is, even, between two REALTORS®. Ombudsman assistance is available to members of the public and to REALTORS®. C.A.R. Ombudsmen receive and respond to questions and complaints about members; can contact members to inform them that a client or another REALTOR® has raised a question or issue; and can provide an informed response to the person complaining.   • Peer-to-Peer Infoline: Peer-to-Peer Ethics Infoline: C.A.R. offers our REALTOR® members a free ethics infoline where they can be assigned a volunteer member who is trained in the Code of Ethics to assist them with their non-legal ethics questions. Members can ask questions about whether their own actions might violate the Code of Ethics or whether the actions of another REALTOR® member might violate the Code of Ethics. Click HERE to request a callback now. You may also call (213) 739-9160 to speak with an intake coordinator who will qualify and assign your call.
  • Mediation Center: The Real Estate Mediation Center for Consumers provides home buyers and sellers, as well as other parties to real estate transactions, with a highly-qualified pool of specially trained, objective, and reliable mediation professionals to assist them in resolving their real estate related disputes. Our mission is to provide consumers with a supportive and confidential process that, working with the mediator of their choosing, will assist them to reach a mutually agreeable settlement and to avoid the time, expense, and uncertainty of litigation.
