Registration Process

To ensure you don’t have any surprises with your lunch reservations or meeting counts, we will direct members interested in attending Legislative Day to contact their local association to sign up for the day. As we have done for many years, you will simply send us a master list saved in Excel format of all your attendees by April 16. This is just for Legislative Day on April 29 and does not include the ticket purchase for the Block  Again, YOU WILL NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE FORM BEFORE YOU CAN USE IT. And please remember to send it back to us in Excel. Please do NOT save it as a PDF.

Office Visit Appointment Times

State Political Coordinators (formerly Key Contacts) are responsible for making appointments with legislators, but many of them ask their association executive or government affairs director for assistance. Construction around the Capitol continues, and legislators and their staff continue to use “the Swing Space,” which is a smaller, communal office space. This space may not be ideal for legislator meetings. Therefore, C.A.R. is advising State Political Coordinators and local staff who schedule these meetings to ask legislator’s offices to help secure other meeting space in the Capitol. As you or the SPC confirm meetings with your legislators, please use our online to submit this information and any changes.

Purchasing Block Party “Tickets.”

We’re excited to be hosting the Block Party again this year with great music, food trucks, bars, and games!  As popularity has grown, will also have more seating this year! This year we will be charging a very reasonable $35 per person to help cover some of the costs for this event. Local associations will be able to buy blocks of “tickets” for their members to attend. Associations will be able to purchase “tickets” (which are actually wristbands) for their members who plan to attend using the order form link below. You can purchase up to 50 tickets on each order. If you need additional tickets, you can simply place another order. Local associations can use ALF funds to pay for their members’ tickets. Once you arrive in Sacramento, C.A.R. staff will be available to provide local association staff with a package containing your members’ Block Party wristbands and their food truck vouchers. It will be up to you to distribute them to your members. We will have no way to know who is assigned to each wristband and we will not be able to sell tickets onsite. We will sell tickets up to April 16 or until we reach capacity.

Scholarship Programs

Members who have never attended Legislative Day are eligible for these scholarships. This program provides local associations with a set amount per recipient. Local associations can use the money to cover the attendee’s travel expenses, lunches, or can pay them for mileage. Any member who has never attended Legislative Day is eligible. The association will be asked to certify that the members attended one of the two scheduled Legislative Day 101 webinars prior to coming to Sacramento, and that they attended both the Morning Briefing and a legislator meeting during Legislative Day. Local associations should submit names for the program beginning on February 27 and are due on or before April 4, but space will fill up quickly!
