Job Title: Staff Accountant

Reports To: CFO

Group: Finance

The CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® is looking for a Staff Accountant specializing in General Ledger and managing Political Contributions Funds.   The candidate will be preparing general ledger, analyzing various GL accounts for month end closing, bank reconciliation, analyzing  accounts for various customers, filling government reports and assist in preparing the annual budget.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full cycle bookkeeping for related entities including monthly closing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
  • Maintain contributions in fundraising database including analysis and reconciliation
  • Interface with internal and external parties on fund disbursements and reporting of activities
  • Maintain and update financial reports for local associations to view online their fund balance
  • Assist in the annual and other audits
  • Transfer funds to PACs to ensure fund is available for disbursement
  • Provide necessary support to outside legal counsel to prepare the campaign fillings
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentation for meetings
  • Intercompany account reconciliation between C.A.R. and PACs
  • Perform bank reconciliation for C.A.R.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Minimum Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 4 years of experience in accounting
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Management Reporter

Skills Required

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Requires the capability to solve problems and work independently without much supervision.
  • Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel including VLOOKUP and MACRO functions, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and outstanding customer service orientation.
  • Ability to function effectively in a variety of challenging situations and circumstances, including difficult project deadlines, demanding customers, tight budgets, and evolving goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner.
  • Excellent work ethic and attendance.
  • Consistency in giving feedback regarding work progress, timetable and issues
