Title: Membership Development and Community Relations Manager

Group: Member Information Group

Reports To: VP of Industry Relations and Strategic Initiatives

 

The Membership Development & Community Relations Manager is responsible for managing projects that connect, engage, retain, and recruit members with a particular focus on new, underserved and diverse groups and works closely with the Industry Relations Special Projects Manager. The position oversees the day-to-day operations of the membership development and inclusion initiatives and responsible for the administration of programs to build and maintain relationships with the real estate community, bridge language/cultural barriers, and promote homeownership. The ideal candidate has a creative mind, is a go-getter, self-motivated, isn’t afraid of technology, able to work in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about customer service, has project management skills, able to manage several concurrent projects and events, and possesses the ability to problem solve.

 

The Manager will build and establish relationships, and create content such as hot issues, information, and benefits pertinent to key stakeholders of the Association. A key component of this position is outreach to diverse real estate associations in the state, as well as other partnering organizations on promoting REALTORS® as leaders in our increasingly diverse communities. The position is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing in-language educational resources that will serve as a resource for REALTORS® on programs, informational materials, and events. The Manager will represent C.A.R. at external functions and outreaches.

 

Responsibilities

  • To manage and oversee the Membership Development and Inclusion Initiatives programs through the direction of the Vice President of Industry Relations & Strategic Initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of C.A.R.’s benefits and services to advise, articulate and interpret those benefits to the members.
  • Management, development, and implementation of communication and promotion plans for multiple Industry Relations initiatives, including:
    • Ethnic Real Estate Organizations
    • New and Existing Membership Development efforts
    • Inclusion & Diversity relations
    • Key association stakeholder relations
  • Identify and evaluate ethnic real estate firms, brokers, agents, and associations to increase involvement in C.A.R. and promote membership.
  • Manage projects and events from start to finish, including managing project budgets, measuring/interpreting feedback, and implementing takeaways.
  • Identifying and implementing program positioning strategies, creating email campaigns, updating website messaging, and social media marketing to expand membership engagement and involvement in inclusion initiative initiatives.
  • Partner with internal staff and external consultants on initiative metrics progress and needs.
  • Provide program support in order to establish and implement proper channels of information and communication.
  • Assist in the creation of branding, advertising, and promotional collateral, as needed.
  • Work with management on projects dealing with program communications, event promotions, sharing of success stories, and special initiatives, etc.
  • Create value propositions for members, especially those in diverse sectors who already belong to Real Estate Organizations.
  • Communicate C.A.R.’s membership value through direct contact with members, development of innovative ways to reach members in order to stimulate the retention and recruitment of members and prospective members.
  • Ensure C.A.R.’s presence is inclusive and aware of is consistent with the changing population/membership demographics and that C.A.R.’s membership message systematically includes this demographic.
  • Draft and modify content for distribution on C.A.R. website, social media, and other new/old channels.
  • Utilize project management software to work effectively within the team structure.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Management or Communication or related fields preferred or 10 years’ experience in association management/membership development
  • Association Experience

Skills Required:
