Job Title: Administrative Legal Assistant

Reports To: Senior VP, General Counsel

Group: Legal


The CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS ® is seeking an Administrative Legal Assistant to support the Senior Vice President and General Counsel. The administrative assistant provides various kinds of support for the team including complex assignments, analytic projects, management organization and tracking, some legal tasks including brief preparation, tracking and filing, docket searches, document retrieval and research, meeting organization tasks, preparation & follow through, and other administrative tasks relating to other functions of the Legal Department. 



  • To provide administrative support for the General Counsel and Legal department.
  • Provide administrative support to General Counsel
  • Anticipate General Counsels’ needs on all aspects to assist efficient work and management flow
  • Coordinate logistics on meetings as required
  • Prepare all committee, and event handouts and materials meetings
  • Oversee and organize important corporate documents
  • Retrieve some case and legal materials for General Counsel including briefs filed as assigned
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 3 years administrative experience
    Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly learn other software tools as appropriate
  • Knowledge of general office procedures/business applications
  • High level phone and organizational skills
  • High level of organization and management of tasks and events
  • Good writing ability (spelling, grammar, etc.)
  • Previous legal and/or real estate experience/exposure helpful
  • Paralegal training preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and outstanding customer service orientation.
  • Ability to function effectively in a variety of challenging situations and circumstances, including difficult project deadlines, demanding customers, tight budgets, and evolving goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner.
  • Excellent work ethic and attendance.
  • Consistency in giving feedback regarding work progress, timetable and issues.
  • Ability to be flexible with assignments and changing priorities
