The CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® is looking for a driven professional with strong writing skills and an interest in public policy to join our Communications team. This individual will work on a variety of projects and programs covering a spectrum of communication channels within a busy corporate communication department. As our ideal candidate, you have excellent written and verbal skills, the ability to think independently, and strong research skills. You will be fully responsible for the day to day functioning of the Association's prestigious thought leadership initiatives, including developing partnerships with key external entities, organizing high level meetings and conferences, and working on various policy and economics related initiatives. This position provides variety, challenges, and opportunities to learn and grow.


"-Conduct solid research on an ongoing basis with respect to public policy, legislation, economics and other areas relevant to housing
- Conceptualize and produce events, from small roundtables to larger conferences
- Write and edit print and online communications for the association
- Work on key thought leadership initiative-a major Association-wide program involving heavy interface with external partners, the creation of high-level conferences, producing reports, and more
- Write and edit a variety of departmental communication products, including print publications, websites, social media, and other digital media outlets
- Copyedit and proofread work within the department as required
- Work on various other communication projects, such as scripting for videos, development of targeted communication to key audience segments, expansion of existing campaigns via different platforms, etc.


- Strong educational background in public policy, political science, economics, or journalism. Bachelor's degree in one of these disciplines required
- Professional experience in public policy, political science, economics, or journalism, in conjunction with communications experience
- High degree of proficiency in writing. Excellent command of language required
- Excellent oral communication skills, and outstanding customer service orientation.
- Significant familiarity with public policy or economic issues
- Strong ability to conceptualize and develop content
- Strategic thinking skills
- Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to function effectively in a variety of challenging situations and circumstances, including difficult project deadlines, demanding customers, tight budgets, and evolving goals and objectives
- Ability to work effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner
- Excellent work ethic and attendance.
- Consistency in giving feedback regarding work progress, timetable and issues
