C.A.R. recently hosted a webinar to help members who are residential landlords and housing providers learn how to get financial assistance under the California Rent Relief Program.

C.A.R. President Dave Walsh was joined by Deputy Director Geoffrey Ross of the Business, Consumer Services & Housing Agency to give a briefing on AB 832 and updates on state eviction protections and the COVID-19 Rent Relief program, with a focus on rental assistance.

Expanded rental assistance is now available housing providers under the California Rent Relief Program. The program provides financial assistance for unpaid rent to residential landlords with eligible tenants to recoup 100% of unpaid COVID-19 rent owed going back to April 1, 2020. Previously, landlords were limited (under state rules) to recouping 80 percent.

The recording of the California rent relief webinar is now available to watch on demand. Additionally, to help guide members and their tenants through the rent relief available, C.A.R. has created a new C.A.R. Housing Provider Rent Relief page, which includes fact sheet, application information, videos, flyers and social media graphics.
