Relief for REALTORS® Impacted by Coronavirus
The coronavirus is impacting communities across California, including our REALTOR® family. C.A.R. is here to help, and one of our top priorities is providing the REALTOR® family with guidance on relief efforts available from the federal and state governments, as well as C.A.R.’s own Disaster Relief Fund. Our current resources for REALTOR® Relief are available at https://www.carcovidupdates.org/realtor-relief. C.A.R. is diligently working to create additional resources and will be updating information regarding federal relief once the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) is finalized and passed. In the meantime, C.A.R. will also launch a program through the C.A.R. Disaster Relief Fund to provide grants for members of the REALTOR® family most impacted by the coronavirus. We will share details on the program when it is available. The latest information on all of our efforts and information on the coronavirus will always be available at car.org/coronavirus. We are here for you and will be doing everything we can to help during these precedented times.

REALTORS® Are Ready to Help
California REALTORS® offer housing assistance grants to those who have lost their home in these tragic fires.  Thanks to generous contributions from the California Association of REALTORS®, state and local REALTOR® associations and other contributors, grants are available for REALTORS®, employees of REALTORS® and association staff directly affected by the fires.  To apply, please fill out the application below and send to [email protected]. (please note, assistance for the Camp, Woolsey or Hill wildfires ended June 1, 2019)

How YOU Can Help
Please help us continue our efforts by making a tax-deductible contribution to the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS'® Disaster Relief Fund. The C.A.R. Disaster Relief Fund was established in the wake of the devastating 2003 California wildfires and has been helping the REALTOR® family recover from natural disasters for more than 15 years.

To make a tax-deductible donation by check, please make payable to the California Community Foundation and write "C.A.R. Disaster Relief Fund" on the "memo" line.  Send checks to the California Community Foundation, 221 S. Figueroa St., Suite 400, Los Angeles, CA 90012.  For questions, please contact [email protected] or call Adina Rurup at (213) 739-8327.

California Disaster Resources
Resources and other useful information for those affected by California disasters, including current details about California fires, assistance center locations; what to do after a fire; information on insurance-related issues and legal advice; applying for financial assistance; and disaster preparedness resources.  Please click here for more details.

Fire Insurance One Sheets
With nearly 500,000 California homes worth a combined $268 billion under serious risk from wildfires, and the issue growing more acute with each passing year, insurance companies are ramping up prices or outright refusing to renew policies in fire-prone areas. Use these materials to keep your customers informed about how to protect their homes, keep their insurance coverage and find new coverage when necessary

Thank You to Our Generous Donors

To date, we have raised over $525,000 for those affected by the recent wildfires, due to the tremendous generosity of our REALTOR® family and community members.  A heartfelt THANK YOU to the donors listed below who have contributed $250 and above to the C.A.R. Disaster Relief Fund.  For a complete list of donors, please click HERE.
