The Bump app, available for Android and iOS devices, has been used to transfer more than 630 million pictures from device to device. Now, you also can transfer other files between devices and transfer files to your computer.
To transfer files from your phone to your computer, start by installing the latest version of Bump, available on your smartphone and enabling location services.
On your computer, make sure you allow location services from https://bu.mp/ from your Web browser.*
From the Bump mobile app, select the file you want to share with your computer, then “bump” the computer keyboard’s spacebar with the phone.
If done correctly, you’ll get a prompt on both your smartphone and your computer asking to connect to each other. Click “yes” on the computer and tape “connect” on your phone.
Once the connection has been established, you’ll see your file listed in the browser window on your computer. Now you can download the file to your computer, delete it, or share it.
*The Web version of Bump only works with Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
