You’ve probably heard the buzz about ePUBS™ for WINForms® by now, but if you haven’t taken a look at www.winforms.com to find out why this new WINForms® add-on library is so great, you could be missing out on a faster way to send disclosure information to your clients, ways to save yourself time and money, and help the environment.
What’s so great about ePUBS™ for WINForms®?
Convenience. Now that the Combined Hazards Book is available as a digitized file, you can simply email the book, whereas in the past, many agents had to provide a physical, 79-page book to their clients and obtain the appropriate client signatures in person. ePUBS™ for WINForms® ensures compliance with California disclosure law.
Savings. ePUBS™ for WINForms® consists of 6 mandated and consumer disclosure titles and costs only $36 annually. In addition to the Combined Hazards Book, the library also includes the Property Transaction Booklet, the Seller’s Guide to the RLA and Disclosures (TDS and SSD), the Buyer’s and Seller’s Guide to the RPA, and finally a Consumer’s Guide to Disclosures for each the buyer and seller. For $3 per month, an agent has access to unlimited usage for all of these titles. Compared to $7.50 to purchase one printed set of each of these titles, $3 per month is a bargain!
Eco–Friendly. Because we recognize that many REALTORS® strive to conduct a paperless transaction, ePUBS™ for WINForms® works with DocuSign®, an electronic signature software. But even if your client isn’t quite ready to exchange electronic signatures, there’s a separate, 2-page signature page that, when emailed with the Combined Hazards Book, allows your customer to only print the pages you require.
It’s true that ePUBS™ for WINForms® can help you save time, money, and the environment, but it’s also provides great information to help educate your client on disclosures and the disclosure process. November 2008 Forms Release
During the week of November 10, 2008 , the latest version of the C.A.R. F orms Library was available to download at C.A.R. Online (www.car.org) . C.A.R. standard forms are updated at least twice a year, during Spring and Fall. The paper forms and the corresponding forms on WINForms® are updated at the same time.
This Fall, four new forms will be released along with five previous forms with new revisions. You can find the most current version of the Quick Summary available at: http://www.car.org/legal/standard-forms/quick-summary-update-new-forms/november-2008-form-releases/.
As WINForms Online® users, your software will automatically update the forms library. On WINForms® Desktop, there are 2 methods to download and install November Forms release:
Method 1: DOWNLOAD & INSTALL UPDATES WITHIN WINFORMS® DESKTOP
STEP 1. CHECK FOR UPDATES
The “Checking for Updates” box is one way of notifying WINForms® users of forms updates. As a current WINForms® user, you should automatically be notified with the following “ Checking for Updates” dialog box to update your software when you login to WINForms®. You may click on the “Continue” button to check whether your software is required for an update.
STEP 2. UPDATE NOW!
Accessing the Update Center requires an Internet connection. By clicking on the “Download Now” button on the Version Verification Manager, you are now redirected to WINForms® Update Center for a download instruction
STEP 3. DOWNLOAD UPDATE FILE
A File Download dialog box will appear asking you whether you want to open the file or save it to your computer. Click on the “Save” button.
METHOD 2. DOWNLOAD & INSTALL UPDATES VIA WINFORMS ® WEB SITE
If your "Checking for Updates" feature was disabled, you might follow the steps below to initiate the download and installation of the latest software updates from the WINForms® Website.
STEP 1. DOWNLOAD PROCESS
1. Go to WINForms ® web site at www.winforms.com .
2. Click on the “Forms Update” to download software.
3. Save the Software Download to Hard Disk.
4. A File Download dialog box will appear asking you whether you want to open the file or save it to your computer. Click on the “Save” button.
5. A Save As dialog box will appear asking where you would like to save the installation program. We recommend saving the installation program to your Desktop .
STEP 2. SELF-INITIATED INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. After downloading the software, g o to your Desktop or the folder where you saved the file, and double-click on the newly downloaded program icon.
2. An Attention dialog box will open telling you to exit your WINForms® program before running this update. P lease close all applications ( including Web Browser, E-mail software, etc.) that you are currently running on your PC before installing the software.
3. A Welcome dialog box appears telling you what to do next. Click the “Next” button.
4. A Release Notes dialog box appears telling you what to do next. Click the “Next” button.
5. A Start Upgrade dialog box appears telling you what to do next. Click the “Next” button .
6. When the Upgrade Complete dialog box appears, click the “Finish” button to complete the installation. When prompted by the Install dialog box, click the “OK” button to restart your computer.
