ENDORSED INSURANCE PROGRAMS
Health, Dental, Vision, Life Plans: Since 1996, C.A.R. has endorsed RealCare Insurance Marketing, Inc. for life and health insurance and offers the following insurance plans for members:
Medical Plans*: Guaranteed issue group health care plans with Anthem Blue Cross and Kaiser Permanente. Coverage is available to C.A.R. members and their eligible family members, full time W2 employees, employees of C.A.R., and employees of C.A.R. Member Boards. There are no medical questions asked. Rates are based on the enrollee's home zip code, age, number of dependents enrolled and insurance carrier - not health status. REALTORS® may apply for other individual insurance at any time but are required to undergo a health underwriting process (i.e., fill out a health application and be approved by underwriting). Individual coverage is not guaranteed.
Dental Plans*: PPO dental plans with Blue Shield of California that allow enrollees to obtain dental care from any provider. Both plans cover orthodontia and have no waiting period for any services.
Vision Coverage*: Vision coverage with Blue Shield and MES Vision. Features include no copay on exams (when using preferred providers) and lenses and frames provided once every 12 months.
Life Insurance*: Guaranteed issue life insurance with either $25,000 or $50,000 of life insurance coverage. Other life insurance plans offered at very attractive rates for greater benefit amounts. These plans require medical underwriting.
New members are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, vision and life plans between their 60th and 120th day of C.A.R. membership. Existing members must sign up for C.A.R.'s guaranteed issue health plans with Anthem Blue Cross during one of C.A.R.'s two annual OPEN ENROLLMENT periods, April 1st through May 15th for a June 1st effective date and October 15th through November 30th for a January 1st effective date or within 30 days of experiencing a qualifying event. OPEN ENROLLMENT EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 15TH. PAPERWORK MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 15TH TO BE ACCEPTED. Eligible members may enroll on the first of any month on a guaranteed issue basis for the Kaiser Permanente plans.
