November, 2002, CALIFORNIA REALTORS® unveiled the Housing Affordability Fund, a non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to addressing California’s growing housing affordability crisis. In the midst of skyrocketing housing costs, REALTORS® were bearing witness to more working families getting pushed away from the American dream of homeownership. The Housing Affordability Fund was established to provide more options for first time homebuyers’ entry into homeownership.
Homeowners Association Grant Program C.A.R.’s Housing Affordability Fund’s Homeowners Association Grant Program will provide qualified first time California homebuyers up to six months of HOA dues, not to exceed $2,500.The program application and certification form along with rules and conditions for HAF’s Homeowners Association Grant Program will be available in zipForm® under the HAF library beginning December 14, 2016.
Funding Request For Local Associations: CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® Housing Affordability Fund is able to fund programs that help REALTORS® clients through your generous support. REALTORS® can contribute and support the Housing Affordability Fund by making a tax deductible contribution at the time you pay your dues, by getting your H.A.F. Key to California Homeownership Pin or participating in one of our upcoming fundraising events.
