MEETING ATTENDANCE
C.A.R. Committee meetings are open to every member with the exception of
those sessions designated as closed meetings by the Board of Directors, or
for which attendance is by invitation only. Actions of these
Committees are fully reported to the Directors.
SEATING POLICY
Seating arrangements are provided to accommodate committee members and as
many visitors as possible subject to available meeting room space.
Seating near front of room is for committee members. Visitors are
requested to observe this policy. Discussion by non-committee members
is at the discretion of the chairman to ensure that committee business is
transacted in a timely and business-like manner.
SMOKING
By Directors Action, smoking is not permitted in any C.A.R. meetings except
meal events.
PAGERS AND CELLULAR PHONES
By Directors Action, pagers and cellular phones shall be in the silent or
off mode during all business meetings and forums of the California
Association of REALTORS® and all cellular phone conversations shall be
taken outside the meeting rooms. (6/99)
RECORDING DEVICES
The use of recording devices is not permitted in any C.A.R. Committee or
Directors' Session without the express permission of the individual
chairing the meeting.
ACCESSIBILITY
The California Association of REALTORS® makes every effort to ensure that
the facilities C.A.R. uses for its business meetings are in full compliance
with the American with Disabilities Act. However, should anyone
attending an event require special assistance, please notify a member of
our meetings staff at C.A.R. Headquarters. C.A.R. will work with the
facilities involved and make every reasonable effort to accommodate these
requests in order to provide for full enjoyment of the event program.
Special requirements for hotel accommodations should be brought directly to
the attention of the hotel.
CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
Some REALTORS® attending C.A.R. committee meetings may have competing
interests. Committee decisions should be made to best serve C.A.R.
members; not to give individuals profit in competing ventures. It is
inappropriate for persons attending a committee meeting to participate in
discussions and/or gain information for their personal financial benefit to
the detriment of C.A.R. members. All persons attending any committee
or directors meeting should not disclose strategic or confidential
information regarding the policies of C.A.R. in a manner that is contrary
to the best interests of C.A.R. members.
SOLICITING POLICY
Please respect the rights of other C.A.R. members and exhibiting companies
by not distributing flyers, pamphlets or other materials of any type while
attending the Business Meetings.
