Thank you for participating in the C.A.R. Committee Selection Process. Each year the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® seeks to include the best and brightest from within our industry as members and leaders of a variety of C.A.R. Committees. Committee members, Chairs, Vice Chairs and Issues Chair are appointed by the C.A.R. President, with input from the President-Elect and the Treasurer. Most committee members serve a one year term and are eligible for reappointment, but certain committees have multiple year terms. All REALTORS® are eligible to serve on C.A.R. Committees; you do not have to be a State Director to serve.
The only way for the C.A.R. Officers to know that you would like to be a committee member, and to determine on which committees you would like to serve, is for you to enter your recommendations online. We want to know what issues or programs you feel passionate about, and how you think you can best contribute to the Association. You may recommend yourself for up to five committee positions, and your local Association Executive may also recommend you for service as a committee member.
In the committee selection process, the Leadership Team's goal will be to identify members who are:
- Respected Members of the Real Estate Profession and Business Community
- Committed to advancing the Association's Goals and Objectives
- In touch with evolving trends in the Real Estate Industry and our Association
- Members who have the foresight and ability to shape the Real Estate Industry of tomorrow
Please note that the deadline for submitting C.A.R. Committee Recommendations (Chair, Vice Chair or Issues Chair of Standing Committees, and Chair, Vice Chair or Member of Special or Advisory Committees) for 2014 is May 10, 2013. The deadline for all recommendations for general membership on standing committees and region representative/liaison assignments recommended by Regional Chairs is July 19, 2013.
As an important part of the committee selection process, the Leadership Team will be drawing heavily on the individual Member's Web Page. For those of you who do not already have your photo and information posted on your car.org Member Web Page, we strongly urge you to do so. This will provide the Leadership Team with a full understanding of your expertise, market areas, designations, etc. To quickly review or update your Member Web Page or other settings and preferences, hold your mouse over the My Account link at the top right of this page and click on "My member Web Page" in the box which appears while you are logged on to car.org.
