SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS:
2009 HAF Golf Classic:
Overwhelming success - $86,881 gross dollars raised. Conservative net estimate raised is $68,000. Suggestions for improvements include:
- Snacks for goodie bags
- More instruction for the rookie program
- Selling strings and drink tickets at the holes
- Only offer 1 shuttle – charge for no show
- Liquor tasting at selected holes
Bowling for the American Dream (BftAD)
Dean Provence led the
discussion on encouraging more local associations to participate in Bowling for
the Amer. Dream. He was scheduled to present at the Presidents
Forum.
Bette Dobkin Award
Tom Hiller requested that Bette’s family be invited to the awards
reception.
HAF Mortgage Protection Program
Subcommittee comprised of:
Co-Chairs; Sereta Churchill
& Mike DeLeon, led discussion on the progress of MPP. Suggestion by
Leslie Appleton Young to add into WINFORMS. Joel Singer and Jim Liptak joined
the meeting and discussion. Agreed with the addition of MPP to winforms and
supported the immediate implementation. Joel stated that he would speak
to communications group about incorporating into the advertising campaign
and/or radio spots.
H.A.F. FINANCIALS
Monica Rodriguez
& Don Flynn (staff) presented the HAF financials and updated the
committee on fundraising efforts and year to date progress of the
fund.
FUNDING
REQUESTS:
1.
APPROVE: That HAF approve Humboldt
County funding request at $5,775 to support reimburse the costs associated
with the previously approved funding request of $10,000 for the accessory
dwelling unit program.
2.
APPROVE:
That HAF approve $5,000 to assist The Inland Gateway association in
establishing a community non-profit housing organization or CHODO.
Committee appointed Mike DeLeon to work with TIGAR to assist in the
development of the CHODO. Upon the completion of the process, they can
submit a new funding request for additional support.
3.
APPROVE: That HAF approve $50,000 to support the Pacific
West AOR Charity Foundation Home Owners Association Assistance program for
first time homebuyers.
4.
APPROVE: That HAF approve $100,000 at increments of
$50,000 to support the Orange County AOR/OC Neighborhood Housing
Services Workforce Housing Closing Cost Assistance Program
(CCAP).
