RE: Rural Forum Meeting Invitation

You are cordially invited to attend the Rural Forum meeting on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Long Beach Hyatt Regency Hotel – Regency Room B (please check program to confirm room location).

This meeting we have the pleasure of presenting two speakers! Our first speaker is David Horne, Chair of the Greater Laguna Coast Fire Safe Council and a Professor of Marketing at California State University Long Beach. Dr. Horne and his wife lost their home in Laguna Beach during the Firestorm of October 1993. He was the founding president of the Mystic Hills Homeowner's Association, which represented over 220 families who lost their homes in the fire. He will be speaking to Rural Forum about rebuilding a home and a community after a fire.

Our second speaker is Daniel Schrimsher of the California Department of Fish and Game. Daniel is the regional expert on Quagga Mussles for the South Coast region. He will be presenting a review on the Quagga Mussel epidemic in our lakes and rivers and what impacts the mussels have on access and infrastructure.
