Re: January Subcommittee Meeting
Dear fellow GAD’s,
Welcome to 2014! I would like to first thank David Kissinger for the great job he did chairing this subcommittee in 2013! I’m really excited about being your GAD subcommittee chair and I know Heather Schiffman is just as excited to be your vice-chair. There are a few reminders that I would like to bring to your attention before the C.A.R. meetings in San Diego. If at any time you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me firstname.lastname@example.org or Heather at Heather@ccartoday.com.

If you have not RSVP’d to the evite sent by DeAnn, please do so ASAP.
In the past we have had GAD Liaisons to various C.A.R. committees in order to keep communication open between the C.A.R. membership and the GAD’s. We do not have a 2014 GAD Liaison list, but please look at this list http://www.car.org/governmentaffairs/GADs/gadcl2013/, see if you are a liaison, and please consider if you would like to continue with your assignment or if you would like to change it. If you currently are not a liaison and wish to be, please let me know. I would also like all of you to think about if the Liaison program is good for the GAD’s and if it should be continued. Every few years we do an evaluation of this program and I want to make sure that this is a valuable program for the GAD’s.
Conflict of Interest Policies
On Tuesday, January 7, all C.A.R. Directors and Committee Members were sent information about the Association's Conflict of Interest Policy. The email includes a unique URL for each Director and Committee Member to access an online survey form which facilitates the process of reviewing and acknowledging that they have reviewed the policy, and provides them with a way to certify that they have no conflicts of interest, or to disclose any conflicts of interest. It is C.A.R. policy that, on an annual basis, all Directors and Committee members review and acknowledge the Conflict of Interest Policy, and disclose any real or perceived conflicts of interest. As a GAD, you should have received this email. Please be sure to follow the link and complete the survey.
Below are the background materials for the meeting. Please review them in advance of our meeting.
