Bobbie Nelson reported that CAR Expo is seeking ideas for class offerings.
Committee overview, responsibilities and objectives reviewed.
Casino Night – Friday, May 3, 2013 –The efforts of the committee resulted in large number of sponsors for this event.
January Region Contest Winners Announced: The following regions will be receiving a $100 gift card and two tickets to Casino Night: Region 5, Region 6, Region 10, Region 11, Region 19, Region 20, and Region 25.
REAP Update: Monica reported that 290 households benefitted from the program – with an expenditure total of $72,500.
New Programs and developments – Identifying new programs, conference calls
Golf Classic –Location at the Lakewood Country Club - Monday, October 7, 2013 Mike DeLeon is the Chair for this event. The entire committee and liaisons were asked to please assist in securing contributions, sponsorships, raffle donations and participants for the event.
Elimination of the Golf Ball Drop was discussed. Due to legal intervention, the golf ball raffle will no longer be held. In lieu of the Ball Drop, it is proposed that a limited quantity Gas Card Raffle is held in its place. Price set at $20 a Ticket.
Bowling for the American Dream: Everyone was reminded to reach out to their local association is encouraged to participate.
Bette Dobkin Award 2013 – Turn in applications by September 20th. A subcommittee has been appointed to review applications. Everyone was encouraged to start thinking of honorees and spread the word to the local associations.
The HAF Awards Receptions will be held during the Fall Business Meetings on Friday October 11th. It’s the culminating event where we honor all of our contributors with a $1000 or more with a very nice reception.

1. APPROVED: That HAF approve fund $15,000 in support of Southland Regional AOR proposal to provide first-time homebuyers who are active in, or veterans of any branch of the U.S. Military – or police officers, sheriffs, or CHP officers who purchase a home in the San Fernando or Santa Clarita Valleys and do not exceed certain income limitations.
2. APPROVED: That HAF approve fund $50,000 in support of SAR proposal to provide a Home Energy Conservation Program that provides basic weatherization upgrades free of charge to owner-occupied, low income homes in the Sacramento Region through a coalition of organizations including the Sacramento Association of REALTORS®, the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality District, Rebuilding Together Sacramento, Habitat for Humanity, and University of California, Davis.
