C.A.R.'s California & County Sales & Price Report for detached homes are generated from a survey of more than 90 associations of REALTORS® and MLSs throughout the state, representing 90 percent of the market.

Pending Home Sales Index
Pending home sales are forward-looking indicators of future home sales activity, providing information on the future direction of the market. The majority of pending home sales usually becomes closed sales transactions one to two months later.

First-time Buyer Housing Affordability Index
C.A.R.'s First-time Buyer Housing Affordability Index (FTB-HAI) measures the percentage of households that can afford to purchase an entry-level home in California.


Traditional Housing Affordability Index
C.A.R.'s Housing Affordability Index (HAI) measures the percentage of households that can afford to purchase a median priced home in California and various regions under traditional assumptions.
