CFA- CAR Opposes Mortgage Tax C.A.R. has issued a statewide Call-for-Action asking California REALTORS® to contact their Member of Congress to oppose a proposal to tax mortgages to pay for highways. This provision was included in the Senate version of the long-term Transportation bill. While the U.S. Senate has already passed the bill, the House has not passed its version of the legislation. REALTORS® are asked to call their Congressional Representative to ask that the tax not be included in the House version of the bill. Please look for an email from C.A.R. with the phrase, “Call for Action” in the subject line. This has personalized information in it for you to reach your Member of Congress. For more info, see the Call-for-Action .
How to Respond to Red Alerts and Calls for Action On occasion, C.A.R. asks REALTORS® to call their legislators to support or oppose proposed bills through Red Alerts and Calls for Action. However, some members may be a bit reluctant to pick up the phone to call their legislator’s office, fearing that they may not know what to say or that the process takes a long time. C.A.R. has produced a short video to show how easy it is to respond to Red Alerts and Calls for Action by making a quick phone call. You can view this video here:
