A message from our 2009 President
The CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (C.A.R) and its nearly 200,000 member REALTORS® have been helping homebuyers and sellers in the Golden State realize the American Dream for more than a century. Our association has undergone numerous changes over the years, and I'm proud of the organization we have become. Today, the membership of our organization better reflects the changing demographics of our diverse state. We've made great strides in this area, but there is more to be done.
To that end, leadership summits initiated by C.A.R. have been meeting since 2000 and have grown to include the African American Economic Development Association of REALTORS® and Affiliates (AAEDARA), California Association of Real Estate Brokers (CAREB), National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA), Chinese-American Real Estate Association (CAREA), Chinese Real Estate Association of America (CREAA), Chinese American Real Estate Professionals Association (CAREPA), Filipino American Real Estate Professionals Association (FAREPA), South Asian Real Estate Association of America (SAREAA), Korean Real Estate Brokers Association of Southern California (KREBA) and Korean Association of REALTORS® and Lenders (KARL).
During the summits, representatives from these organizations work together to address issues that impact all real estate professionals.
C.A.R. continues to play a leadership role in our industry and remains committed to doing so in the diversity arena as well. Please join me in celebrating the diversity within our organization in the real estate profession in 2009.
Sincerely,
James Liptak
2009 President
