Kevin Brown is the 2014 President of the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®.
Brown is a second-generation REALTOR® who was welcomed into the family business by his father and brother in 1978 after graduating from college. Initially specializing in residential properties, Brown later transitioned into the brokerage, leasing and management of investment properties, with more than 35 years of experience servicing the cities of Oakland and Berkeley.
Brown has served in numerous leadership positions at C.A.R. over the years, chairing several policy committees, task forces and working groups, as well as several positions at the local level at the Oakland and Bay East Associations of REALTORS®. He also has served as a Federal Political Coordinator to the 9th Congressional District for the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, Chair of C.A.R.’s Legislative Committee, Chair of the Bay East Association’s Local Government Relations Committee, and President of the Oakland Association of REALTORS®. Brown was the recipient of C.A.R.’s outstanding Committee Chair Award and the REALTOR® of the Year award from the Oakland Association of REALTORS®.
A few of Brown’s key goals this year are continuing to improve the ethics and professionalism in our industry, lobbying government and regulators to provide for affordable financing and a stable housing market, as well as helping REALTORS® understand the importance of legislative advocacy and political involvement.
