Job Title: Marketing & Communications Manager
Reports To:
SVP of Marketing and Communications
Group:
Communications

The Opportunity:
Are you someone who enjoys using your creativity and coming up with new marketing ideas? Are you interested in helping a modern brand push the envelope even more with its external presence? Are you enthusiastic, energetic and self-motivated? If so, this is a great opportunity for you to join the communications team at the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®. Yes, we’re a 100+ year old organization serving real estate – no, we’re not a stodgy 100+ year old organization serving real estate. In fact, we’re pretty cool (or so we think), and we’re a powerful voice for housing in California. We also think we’re an awesome company to work for. So here’s what you need to know about the job:

The Role:
We are looking for a marketing and communications manager to implement various strategic and tactical initiatives within a busy 15-person marketing and communication department. The manager will use a variety of communications and marketing channels to creatively tell the story of the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and help our 214,000 members sell real estate. This role will work cross-functionally within the organization and closely with the chief marketing officer in researching and producing presentations on a variety of topics, activating new marketing initiatives, and overseeing various marcom projects. Lots of variety – you won’t be bored!

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, creative, able to juggle multiple projects and responsibilities, have strong attention to detail and be a great communicator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and track marketing activities utilizing a variety of approaches
  • Conduct research on marketing trends and produce new strategies for diverse areas, from finding new agency partners to developing a social media architecture to guide the organization
  • Work on various other communication projects, such as development of targeted communication to key audience segments, expansion of existing campaigns via different platforms, etc.
  • Analyze and report on the performance and efficiency of marketing campaigns
  • Write, edit and produce content across different mediums as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in marketing/communications, content strategy development, social media or digital marketing
  • Ability to manage projects independently – important since this is a largely remote position
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary media landscape, inclusive of social media, influencers, and marketing on various social platforms
  • Strong ideation skills as evidenced by prior work
  • Ability to embody company values and build key relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert skills in creating Keynote/PowerPoint presentations
  • B.A. or B.S. degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in a busy marketing and/or communications department
  • Some supervisory experience
