OVERVIEW -- C.A.R. COMMITTEE SELECTION
TIMELINE FOR 2013 APPOINTMENTS
(Dates are subject to change)
APRIL 2012
Committee selection information placed online for all Leadership Groups and Directors/Committee members for recommendations for Chair, Vice Chair, Issue Chair and Member position on standing, special and advisory committees. Information outlines policies on committee selection, descriptions/mission statements, and information on how to enter C.A.R. committee recommendations via www.car.org. The 2013 Committee Selection Process will launch on C.A.R. online Friday, April 13, 2012.
Regional Chairs (2012) are to notify C.A.R. headquarters of the name of their respective Regional Chair for 2013 and the name of the Assistant Regional Chair, if possible.
JUNE 2012
The deadline date for submitting C.A.R. Committee Leadership recommendations (Chair, Vice Chair or Issue Chair of Standing Committees, and Chair, Vice Chair or Members of Special or Advisory Committees) for 2013 is Friday, June 15, 2012.
Regional Chairs for 2012 are requested to notify C.A.R. headquarters of Nominating Committee Member and Alternate Member representing their Region for next year. In addition, if information is available, Association Executives are to advise C.A.R. of the name of local Association President for 2013.
JULY 2012
Local Associations/Regions provided with information on members who are being considered for C.A.R. committee assignments and/or have continuing terms on committees for the year 2013. Leadership Team reviews all committee recommendations for Leadership and Member on Specialized/Advisory positions.
JULY 2012
Regional Chairs for 2012 to notify C.A.R. of: 1) Committee Regional Representatives and 2) Recommendations for Committee Members at Large.
AUGUST 2012
C.A.R. Chair, Vice Chair, Executive Committee, Committee Liaisons, Strategic Planning & Finance and the Specialized/Advisory committee selections for 2013 finalized. Respective appointees confirmed. Regional Chairs and Local Associations are advised that selections are posted on C.A.R. Online.
AUGUST 2012
The deadline date for submitting all Regional Representative Recommendations and remaining Committee Member Recommendations for 2013 is Friday, August 3, 2012.
AUGUST 2012
Leadership Team reviews and finalizes committee rosters for 2013.
SEPTEMBER 2012
Members notified of 2013 appointments online. Regional Chairs and Local Associations advised of appointments of members within the Region/Local Association who have been asked to serve on C.A.R. committees for 2013.
OCTOBER 2012
Preliminary 2013 committee rosters are available to C.A.R. staff coordinators to share with their committee leadership.
NOVEMBER 2012
Final committee rosters available to C.A.R. staff coordinators and committee leadership. Regional Chairs provided respective rosters of Directors and Committee members by Region for 2013.
