Each year the C.A.R. Officers seek to put together the best group of California REALTORS® to serve on numerous C.A.R. committees to tackle the issues facing our industry and help direct Association policy. C.A.R. committee members and directors attend three C.A.R. Business Meetings throughout the year as well as conference calls and other meetings in between. Any California REALTOR® is eligible to serve on a C.A.R. Committee; being a C.A.R. Director is not required. Most committee members serve on a one year term, but certain committes have multiple year terms.
The C.A.R. Officers want to hear about the issues or programs you are passionate about and how you think your skills and expertise can best contribute to the Association as well as the committee. If you would like to serve on a C.A.R. committee, you will need to submit recommendations online for the committees and positions you are interested in by using the C.A.R. Committee Selection Process. You may recommend yourself for up to five committee positions.
The deadline for submitting 2017 C.A.R. Committee Recommendations for Leadership and Specialized/Advisory positions (Chair, Vice Chair, or Issues Chair of Standing Committees and Chair, Vice Chair, or Member of Special or Advisory Committees) is
May 13, 2016.
Recommendations for general membership on Standing Committees can be made until
July 22, 2016. Regional Chairs also have until
July 22, 2016 to enter their region representative/liaison assignments.
When evaluating the recommendations submitted online, the C.A.R. Officers will take into account the information available on your Member Web Page. Please review your Member Web Page to ensure that your photo and information is up-to-date. This will provide the C.A.R. Officers with a full understanding of your expertise, market areas, designations, and more. To review or update your Member Web Page, log in to car.org and click on the “My Account” link at the top right of the page. Select on "My Member Web Page" to edit the information.
