Upcoming Events
The Subcommittee requested of staff that the GAD Fly-up to Sacramento on
Friday February 22, 2008 be moved up to a 9:30 am - 2: pm time frame to
accommodate air travel for out-of-town GADs.
The Subcommittee requested staff to explore other
dates for the 2008 California GAD Institute in Pasadena to avoid conflicts
for Subcommittee leadership.
The Subcommittee requested that the June Subcommittee meeting be held on
the afternoon of Tuesday, June 3 and that a conference call be scheduled
for the week prior to provide a Legislative Day update and an opportunity
for information sharing for those GADs who will be unable to attend the
Tuesday meeting because of the election primary also taking place on June
3.
The Subcommittee requested that staff explore the possibility of a
late-morning start-time for future Subcommittee meetings during the C.A.R.
Board of Directors meetings to avoid the need for a split meeting in the
afternoon.

Sharing
The following local issues were raised: project labor agreements in
Chula Vista and Placer County; a business license tax in Burlingame; fire
district assessments in East San Diego County; point-of-sale retrofit
requirements for water conservation, sewer laterals and green building in
Napa and Sonoma Counties; lead-paint at the point-of-sale in San
Diego.
