Mission Statement: The Local Governmental Relations Committee supports the interests of REALTORS® in local governmental affairs. The Committee monitors, analyzes, and recommends policies relating to local and regional issues, and assists REALTORS® in developing programs which impact local and regional governmental actions.

The following local issues were raised: mansionaization in Santa Cruz County; rent control, condominium conversions and tenancies in common in San Francisco; density bonus in Encinitas; affordability, condo conversions and point-of-sale lead-based paint requirements in San Diego and Coronado; condo conversions in Los Angeles; mansionization and open space restrictions in Fremont; urban growth boundaries in Livermore; condo conversions in Pleasanton; air quality in Region 15; mobilehome rent control and transportation funding in Stanislaus County; private property transfer tax in Region 3; point-of-sale uniform building code compliance in Santa Cruz County; point-of-sale sewer lateral inspections in Newport Beach; ballot box planning in Shasta County; vacation rental in Big Bear; developer fees in Orange County; sales tax in Napa.Housing Assistance Program Specialist Designation
Dave Stark, GAD for the Bay East AOR introduced Nancy Rogers, of the NorCal Housing Coalition, who announced the new Housing Assistance Program Specialist Certification Course, a new continuing education course for real estate professionals.
