LGR Survey Results 2007
At the end of 2006, C.A.R.'s Local Governmental Relations (LGR) Department conducted an informal survey of the Local Government Committee Chairsat the local Association level to identify important LGR issues for the coming year. The following summarizes the results of that survey.Of 117 local Associations in California, 86 have LGR Chairs. Of these, 31 Associations responded to the survey.
The survey listed 18 historically major issues and provided space for Associations to identify their own issues.
Listed below are the issues identified in the survey,ranked according to the number of respondents marking them as high priority issues in their community:

Additionally, the following issues were also identified as important issues by one or more respondents:
- Private transfer taxes
- Strict septic regulations and permitting process
- Vacation rental restrictions
- Flood Control Project funding
- Transfer of development rights
- Definition and application of “wetland”
- Quasi-official land mapping exercises
- Code enforcement on dilapidated buildings
- Transportation issues
- Flowing water towards ocean rather than towards developable land
- Desalinization project opposed by NIMBYs
- Tri-tunnel project (to create new transportation corridor) opposed by NIMBYs
- Sex offender ordinance – disclosure document
- Environmental challenge to project
