SPECIAL REPORTS:
REAP Update: Monica reported that 182 households benefitted from the program – with an expenditure total of $45,500.
New program discussion: The subcommittee led by Lisa Muetterties has had a conference call. It was reported that we will be reaching out to the affiliates to determine the best way to structure a home warranty program.
Fundraising: January Region Challenge was completed and the following regions will be receiving a $100 gift card and two tickets to Casino Night: Region 5, Region 10, Region 19, Region 25, Region 31.Monica will make visits to the winning regions to present the cards to the winners.
Casino Night – Friday, May 4, 2012 – It was reported that this casino night is estimated to be the most financially successful. The efforts of the committee has resulted in the largest number of sponsors for this event to date.
Golf Classic – Orange County- Monday, October 1, 2012 Mike DeLeon is the Chair for this event. The entire committee and liaisons were asked to please assist in securing contributions, sponsorships, raffle donations and participants for the event. Everyone was reminded to help sell golf balls for the new ball drop fundraising opportunity.
Bowling for the American Dream: Every association is encouraged to participate. Frieda McReynolds remarked what an easy event it is to pull together – also Tom Hiller reported his association has booked their event.
Bette Dobkin Award 2012 –A subcommittee will be appointed later in the year to review applications. Everyone is encouraged to start thinking of honorees and spread the word to the local associations.
Awards Receptions: This event takes place Fall Business Meetings. It’s the culminating event where we honor all of our contributors with this very nice reception.
Kathy Hinman provided an update on the e-newsletter that she created and issued to the AE’s. It was very well received and as a result, she secured additional gift baskets and donations for HAF.
FUNDING REQUESTS:
1.
APPROVED: That HAF approve fund $50,000 in support of Contra Costa Association’s HOA Assistance program in partnership with the City of Walnut Creek, with dollars to be refunded to HAF should they not be expended within 18 months. Contra Costa to provide copy of MOU.
2.
APPROVED: That HAF approve matching funds of $20,000 in support of Southland Regional AOR’s first time homebuyer grant program.
3.
DENIED: That HAF provide $10,000 in funding to support Monterey County AOR collaboration with the Housing Resource Center of Monterey County to provide an in-house homeownership counseling at the Monterey County Association office.
