Mission Statement
The Mission of the Public Policy Forum is to provide an opportunity for education, information and networking regarding public policy issues that may be related to discussions in the various public policy committees. Topics, guest speakers, discussion opportunities and presentations are selected that will be the most topical and of the greatest use and interest to attending members. The Forum will focus on issues related to the public policy development of C.A.R. and to the greatest extent possible will not overlap with non-policy forums.

II. Appraisal Forum
The Public Policy Forum will provide REALTORS® with an opportunity to present their concerns relating to appraisal management companies and specifically out of area appraisers, accuracy of work product, conflicts of interest, the need for portable appraisals, professional standardization for appraisers, and other compliance issues. REALTORS® are encouraged to not only attend, but to provide comments and documentation supporting their experiences in the field.
Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi, Chair of the Assembly Business and Professions and Consumer Protection Committee, and Bob Clark, Director of the Office of Real Estate Appraisals have agreed to attend C.A.R.’s Forum. Joel Singer, Executive Vice President of the California Association of REALTORS® will moderate this discussion.
